Our approach

We start with what's actually there — not what we'd prefer.

Most landscape projects fail in the planning phase. A designer renders something beautiful without accounting for drainage, soil, sun exposure, or how the property behaves in a wet winter. It looks right on paper. Then the first season exposes every shortcut.

We spend more time on the site visit than most companies spend on the whole design. We walk the property, dig into the soil, map where water collects, and note what's thriving and what's struggling. We ask questions. Only then do we design.

The result is a landscape that earns its keep year after year — not just in the photos we take the week after install.

Planting and irrigation installation by Oak River

No subcontractors on work that matters

The crew that builds your project is the same crew that maintains it. One standard, one point of contact.

Written scope before anything starts

A detailed proposal with a line-by-line scope and a fixed price. No vague estimates, no surprise additions mid-project.

Designed for North Bay conditions specifically

We select plants and materials for Sonoma, Marin, and Napa climates — not generic California or national standards.

We answer the phone after the job is done

Most landscapers disappear after install. We stay available — and most clients move to a maintenance plan so we're there year-round.

Scope of work

From first sketch to finished property.

We handle the full scope in-house — design, materials, installation, and the handoff to ongoing care. Here are the kinds of projects we take on.

Common questions

What people ask us most.

About cost, timeline, scope, and what working with us actually looks like. Call us if yours isn't here.

Cost depends on property size, scope, materials, and site conditions. We don't give ranges that set false expectations — every property is different, and a number without a site visit is a guess. What we can tell you: you get a written, fixed-price proposal before any work starts, and we don't add line items after the fact.
Smaller residential projects can wrap in a few weeks. Larger or more complex builds — those with significant grading, permits, or phased installation — can take several months. We give you a project timeline as part of the written proposal, so you know what to expect before you commit.
Yes — the full scope, in-house. Design, hardscape, planting, irrigation, and lighting. We don't use subcontractors for the work that matters. The people who design your project are the same people who build it and maintain it afterward.
We walk the full property with you — typically 30 to 45 minutes. We look at drainage, soil, sun exposure, existing plants, and hardscape. We ask about your goals, your priorities, and your timeline. A few days later, you get a written proposal. No charge, no obligation to proceed.
Yes. We take on commercial landscape projects across the North Bay — office and retail entrances, HOA common areas, multi-unit residential, and vineyard and winery grounds. Commercial projects get the same written scope and fixed pricing as residential.
We walk the finished project with you, go through the maintenance requirements, and hand off care instructions. Most clients move to an ongoing maintenance plan so the same crew stays on the property year-round. We stay available after every project — we're not the kind of company that disappears after the invoice.
